Bagg’s Square Brewing Company is located in the Doyle Hardware building, inside the Bagg’s Square district of Utica NY. The Doyle Hardware Building is a historic factory building located at 330 Main Street. It was the work of Utica architect Frederick H. Gouge. The Doyle Hardware building was constructed in three sections between 1881 and 1901. Built originally as a clothing factory, in 1934 it became a factory for the manufacture of spark plugs, in 1947 it became home to Utica Distributing Company, and then later Doyle Hardware. Besides being home to BSBC, the Doyle Hardware building also houses a few other commercial spaces as well as loft style apartments.

In 1998, the Schick's bought a 200-acre dairy farm in Fultonville — not too far from the already famous New York Finger Lakes wine-making region — and planted 1,000 young vines by hand.
The grapes took root, and 20,000 more vines were planted, and Hummingbird Hills Winery was born. It took three to five years for the young vines to produce a sufficient crop of grapes. The first vintage was a success as Ken followed in the footsteps of his German ancestors — who had a knack for making homemade wines.

By the end of the 2010 season, Kimm and Ken received approval from the State of New York and Hummingbird Hills Winery established its place on the map for another winery in Upstate NY. In 2010, Kimm and Ken were lovingly tending to over 20,000 vines spread over a 26-acre vineyard. Kimm and Ken worked very hard to take the existing dairy barn and transform it into Hummingbird Hills Winery. They opened the doors to the winery in August of 2010 and have never looked back!

Today, Kimm and Ken continue to craft a line of unique grape, fruit, specialty, and even two cooking wines. Their winery was the first active winery in Montgomery County, and they continue to produce a variety of wines using their own grapes and locally sourced ingredients. Ken, the winemaker keeps his focus on the taste and quality of the wine — keeping the process as natural as possible.

Hummingbird Hills Winery invites wine lovers to stop in every weekend for a taste of the most unique and flavorful wines in the region. The winery continues to flourish and produce a line of wines that truly provide an “Escape from the Normal.”
They have the most beautiful views and peaceful quiet country surroundings. They also offer a small gift shop with only locally made products.
